From 1997-2008 the Japanese government created a life-changing opportunity for over 6,800 American teachers. In October 2007 I had the incredible opportunity to spend three weeks in Japan with 200 teachers from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This experience provided tremendous educational and cultural experiences that continue to be shared with teachers, students, and  colleagues in the Memphis school district.
